We were asked to create a modern old style piano night club next to the Pompidou Center in Paris. The space is located in caves of an old building with dome ceilings. Our main idea was to introduce all light from a high level in order to put focus on the beautiful ceiling. We designed seating areas along the walls with panel backs which continue up the wall. Thereby we create a 'lower feeling' -obtained through cohesion of materials- and the 'upper feeling' -through focus on the ceiling. We used several tones of gray and black lacquered walls and tables. The red light shines from behind the panel walls.
